Its always great to be able to underline and bold text to emphasize it. You can easily do it inside Facebook chat,

• To write bold text in Facebook chat, just wrap it inside asterisks(*). Thus *I will always visit this blog* will display, I will always visit this blog

• To underline text in Facebook chat, enclose it in underscores (_). Thus _I like this blog _ will display     I like this blog.

Now you must be thinking how to write italic text in Facebook chat?, But unfortunately, its not possible to italic text in Facebook chat at this time of publishing this post. I’ll update this post as soon as this feature is available on facebook chat.Also,

WINDOWS KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS YOU NEED TO KNOW

The computer Keyboard was inventor by C. L. Sholes.He put together the prototypes of the first commercial typewriter in a Milwaukee machine shop back in the 1860's."

These days,it is interesting to use keyboard shortcut keys as it makes you to do a great deal of work in a twinkle of an eye.

...Apart from the fact that knowing the keyboard shortcuts saves time and money, it also make copmputing as a whole to be stress-free . Based on this i have painstakingly compiled a list of the shortcut keys i know for you...Let's go

WINDOWS SHORTCUTS USING CONTROL KEY
-pressing the Ctrl key while clicking allows multiple selections. Holding the Ctrl key down and pressing other key combinations will initiate different actions. Some of the more common ones are listed below.

Ctrl + A- Select All items
Ctrl + B- Add or remove Bold formatting

Ctrl + C- Copy, places the selected/highlighted copy on the clipboard.

Ctrl + C + C- Opens the clipboard.

Ctrl + F- Opens the Find what: dialog box. used for searching references on web pages using your favorite web browser.

Ctrl + H- brings out the Find and Replace dialog box while working in html views like dreamweaver,frontpage e.t.c. You can also use this to find and replace content within Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets, etc...

Ctrl + I- to add or remove Italics formatting, to or from selected /highlighted texts in microsoft word,corel draw,

Ctrl+J- to justify selected text in publishing programs like microsoft word

Ctrl + N- opens a New Window In Internet Explorer
to open a New Document in publishing programs like microsoft word

Ctrl + O- Open dialog box that allows you to select a file to open.

Ctrl + P-allows you to Print

Ctrl + S -allows you to Save

Ctrl + U- Add or remove Underline formatting.in selected/highlighted text

Ctrl + V- to paste what you have copied with Ctrl+C

Ctrl + W - to close the document currently opened.

Ctrl + X- Cut, removes the selected/highlighted copy and places it on the clipboard.

Ctrl + Y- to redo last command .Pressing Ctrl + Y + Y + Y... allows multiple Redos

Ctrl + Z-to undo last command. Pressing Ctrl + Z + Z + Z... allows multiple Undos

Ctrl + Esc- to Open the Start menu (or you can use the Windows Key if you have one).

Ctrl + F4- to close a window in an application without closing the application.

Ctrl + F5- use to refresh the a web page by bypassing cache in Internet Explorer

Ctrl + Shift- to create a shortcut while dragging a file

Ctrl+ Shift +del- to enter the Task Manager

Ctrl + Tab- allows movement (toggle) from one open window to the next one in an application with more than one open window.


SHORTCUTS USING WINDOWS KEY

Windows Key + D-Minimizes all windows and shows the Desktop i.e to hide/display all windows

Windows Key + E- to open a new Explorer Window

Windows Key + F-to show "find all files" dialog box.

Windows Key + L-to lock Windows XP and Windows 7 computer. Logoff older versions of Windows .

Windows Key + M to minimizes open windows.

Windows Key + R- to display the Run command.-to enter command prompt, ping your ip,or edit system registry...

Windows Key + F1-to open the Windows help page.

Windows Key + Pause/Break-d isplays the Systems Properties dialog box.

Windows Key + Shift + M- to restore all previously opened windows to how they were before you minimized them.


FUNCTION KEYS
F1 - Display Help
F2- Rename the selected item
F3-Search for a file or folder
F4- Display the Address bar list in Windows Explorer
F5 - Refresh the active window
F6 - Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop
F10 - Activate the menu bar in the active program

The above listed Windows Shortcut commands are very useful in our day to day life,
Consistent usage of the shortcuts will make you remember them when you need them.

OAU releases 2011/2012 POST-UTME results

Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife (OAU) has announced the release of the 2011/2012 Post UTME results.

In Less than six hours after the conduct of the post-UTME screening exercise, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Saturday released the results of the exercise.

A release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, showed that of the 41,391 candidates, 8,602 scored 200 and above, while 48 made 300 and above.

Three candidates exhibited highly exceptional brilliance. Their results showed some significant improvement over their UTME scores. The candidate with the highest score, Sanni Mutmainah Ololade, had 358 in the post-UTME and 322 in the UTME. Falokun Tolulope Janet, who got the second highest score of 336, made 290 in her UTME, while Adeagbo Hafiz Adebayo who came third with 324, had 282 in the UTME.

The three candidates applied to study Medicine/Surgery, Law and English Language.

Olanrewaju urged candidates to check their results on the university’s website.

HOW TO PING ON SYMBIAN PHONES LIKE BLACKBERRY PHONES

Recently, I thought of knowing the differences between Blackeberry Phone & Nokia Symbian Phones, I wanted to know what drives people crazy when it comes to the issue of BlackBerry Phone. It has come to the stage that even on our various campuses, it's now like -if you do not have a blackberry phone, you are not there. After thorough analysis, I realized that the only difference between the two; is the pinging features found in Blackberry Phones i.e Blackberry to Blackberry Users can chat.

With a view of bridging this gap, i came across one application called

-Whats App.
With this Application" Whats App " Pinging will no longer be restricted to blackberry users alone, because now Symbian phone users too can ping each other and can even ping Blackberry Users. unbelievable?.. Just read on

The fact is that just as Blackberry need Internet to Ping, so do Nokia Symbian Phones need internet to ping but the good news about the Nokia pinging is that you will not be charged at all, because this application has been tested on symbian nokia phones listed below when i had no money on my line, and it worked.

Another good news is that Nokia symbian phones don't need any pin to chat, your phone number is enough. Also, you will receive message even if the application is not opened,and once you click on it, it will automatically connect and u can start chatting with the person at no cost.

HOW DO I START TO PING WITH MY SYMBIAN PHONE?

• First,CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD the application 
• Install it,  and follow the setup Instruction.
• After confirmation, your phone number will be verified, and  it will open the Whats App Interface and you will see all your friends using Whats App to Ping. (I THINK YOU CAN NOW SEE THE REASON FOR YOU TO SHARE THIS BLOG WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK, AND TO ALWAYS RECOMMEND THIS BLOG)
•  To add a new friends , go to your phone book in your contact ' add a new name, just like adding new contact to your phone, not using this Application.
• Now, open this application and you will be able to ping the person automatically, and wait for him/her to reply even if he/she is not online,the person will be notified
•  Now you can start chatting  for free and you will notice that the Chat Interface is just like that of Blackberry chat .
